So, I broke down and bought a .460 Rowland barrel kit and 50 rounds, to give her a try. :guntootsmiley::guntootsmiley:Anyone have any good hunting, target bullet/power combo suggestions? I'm gonna give a try, I still love my 45 ACP more. :)

Thanks

I run it in a Blackhawk 45 ACP conversion cyl. Cut them back to ACP length. Only powder I have messed with is power pistol. A min load of 12.2gr gets me 1420fps w a 200gr XTP.

When I tried a .460 Rowland load in a .45 ACP case in my G21 conversion, I was surprised that it did not blow out the brass. Maybe I lucked out and picked a piece of brass that was .45 SUPER or .45ACP+P. I believe I was using 12.0 gr of Longshot with a Lee 230 gr TC cast bullet.

Here's some reloading data:

Thank you! I reckon any flat point or HP with work good on most critters in the -48.

I shoot the .460 Row. in my S&W 625 (reamed the cylinder for it), Dan Wesson Revolver, and 1911. I like it. Working up loads with BE86 now just for fun.

You could just use .45 SUPER brass. From what I've read, it's the same thickness.

Now, having said that, I used regular .45ACP brass in my loadings which were at .460 Rowland level in both my G21 conversion and my Ruger Bisley .45LC with the .45ACP conversion cylinder.

I already have some super brass. But heres how it would have went had I said I was loading 45 super brass to 460 rowland levels 'oh my god your gonna blow yourself up, why didnt you buy the proper brass?' super and rowland was the same price.
