I know this sizing thing has been beat to death but I'm still kind of new to this obsession. I slugged my wife's new 9mm P225 & the slugs measured .3563". I'm assuming I should get a .358" die for my Lyman 4500.

I'm waiting on the group buy for Mihec's 125gn mold. These are the boolits I intend use for her new gun.

All thoughts & comments welcome.

Thank you.

Is measurement the barrel or chamber?

Groove measurement. I measured 3 slugs with a Starrett micrometer.

Yes, a .358" sizing die should work. I found that I wanted faster production for pistols and went with a Lee press mounted sizer die. Again, because I wanted faster production, I also tumble lube with Ben's Liquid Lube because it's really fast and easy. Super easy and fast combination.

Why make the missus wait for a group buy? That could take months. I'd try to keep her in some kind of boolits to shoot, maybe get a Lee 2 cavity 356-120 TC for her for now.

Either a .357 or .358 will work fine for your purposes.

The question is will a 0.358" bullet chamber. Before buying a die, you might want to get a .358 bullet & seat it, chamber it, make sure it fits. I think you would be fine with 0.357", but 9m can be very picky.

I have some 158gn RNFP boolits. I guess I could seat a couple of those & see if they chamber.

Thanks for the tip.

I've had to use a .357. The .358 made things a little to fat to chamber.
