Looking for a short story - can't remember the title...just the gist of the plot

I read a dystopian short story several years back, and for the life of me, cannot find a link to it no matter how hard I search. I'm talking about Google Page 10 and beyond looking for the story!

The general gist of the story goes something like this..."DOJ and the Attorney General get direction from the POTUS to round up political dissidents and bloggers, and to start funneling all the news through "approved" media sources. The internet takes notice that a lot of folks are going dark, and the mainstream media is spouting the same message across the board because they are scared of the fedgov. Random citizens get fed up, start dispatching reporters, reporters start reporting real news, and buck the mouthpiece gig put on them by the gov't. Gov't individuals are prosecuted, and all is well."


Does this sound familiar to anyone here?!? If so, I'd really appreciate any help in tracking the actual story down so I can share it with some friends of mine. I wish I had more to go on than what I can recall, but no dice.

Don't know the particular story, but it sounds a lot like the other dystopian fiction out there. It sounds like it would make a good baseline story for a weekly show like "The Last Ship". I'll watch the thread and hope someone comes up with the title. I can alway use a new story to read.

That is along the lines of it. The woman was an AG or something of that nature.
