For those of you that have purchased one of these pistols, I finally got some good news last night.
Of course, just like the other S&W Shields, the pistol comes with 1 flat based magazine and 1 extended magazine. The flat based magazine doesn't have enough room to get your pinky on it. The extended magazine allows plenty of room to get the pinky on it. When I carry it in my IWB holster, I have been using the flat based magazine to keep the printing down.
I have contacted S&W 3 times now and they keep giving me the same response. "We currently do not have any additional magazines to spare. Our magazine manufacturer is just keeping up with the magazines that are needed for new gun sales. But we hope to begin selling spare magazines in the next 2 - 3 months."
For other pistols, I have converted these flat based magazines to good usable magazines just by installing the custom "finger rest extension" by Pearce Grip. I have been chatting back and forth with them for several weeks now and yesterday, they finally gave me some good news.
