Mods: I am not sure if this post is in the correct forum. If not could you move it to the correct forum. TYIA

I have been looking at these guages to purchase: I see they have the: "Pistol Max Gage measures the maximum dimensions of a loaded round. This includes case length, max cartridge dimensions, and max length of loaded round".

They also have the "Pistol Case Length Gage". Which would be best? Or would it be better to have both types so as to check before loading & then check after loading?

Never heard of this brand. I have used Lyman and Dillon case gages. A case gage is a very useful tool to have as it will confirm to you that you are sizing the brass appropriately. And the rifle case gages will also tell you if the case needs to be trimmed or not.

I suspected that's who you meant. L E Wilson are fine tools and will last you and your family a long time. Yes, for pistol, there are different case gages for coal and case length. Case length gages are not really needed if you have a pair of calipers. The case length gage is quicker though. I would at least get the coal gage as that will tell you that the cartridge is within saami specs or not. Coal = cartridge over all length.

Ty for you reply. Again I am sorry for the name mix up. I edited the post where I had the wrong name except for the post title. It will not let me edit or fix that.
I will be getting the coal gage for our two ACP's, two revolvers & two 30-30's. I do have a caliper & mic. But I am seriously thinking I may get a case length gage for our Ruger 9mm. It has been a problem for us at times. Then hopefully I can figure out what its problem is. SharuLady
