I shoot cowboy action and have been shooting Lee 105 SWCs through my Ruger Vaqueros and commercial cast 125 flat points through my Marlin CBC chambered in 38 Spec. I attempted to cast with the Lee RNFP mould in 38 cal and was not happy as when I ran it through the Lee Sizer with a 358 sizer die the bullet came out with the look of being sized somewhat off center with lead being pushed up one side of the bullet. My next thought would be to use the 124 Gr. 9MM FP and attempt to run it through my sizer with the 358 sizer die to be used through the Marlin. My question is, will the 124 GR. 9mm flat point come out of the mould large enough in size to be sized with the 358 die and will it also accept the lube?
Any help would be appreciated as I really like the idea of shooting bullets I have cast and also the cost factor does not hurt.

Thanking you in advance

Sorry for the mistake, I meant I was running the bullets through an RCBS lube sizer with the 358 die.

Does the nose punch fit properly? Have you miked the boolit as cast to see if it is out of round? Does the sizer produce concentric boolits from other molds? Any fins on the boolit bases? DALE

I'll assume you're asking if a tumble lube type boolit will take lube in a regular sizer die? Of the 3 TL molds I've used, 2 will take the lube, both of which are 45 caliber molds. The other was a 41 caliber which would not take the lube for some reason or the other, that mold has been long gone.

I sometimes shoot a Lyman 356402 boolit in 38s & it does just fine sized at .358 as it drops from the mold at .359-.360" I have also used an RCBS 9-147 in 38s & 357s with good accuracy.

This is the bullet I would shoot if I was going to shoot cowboy action. Shoots good in my revolvers and in my Marlin 357.

I have the Lee 125gr rnfp.
Had issues with that six cavity mould not closing well. Gave me some out of round and over sized bollits. I fixed that some how but can't remember. Maybe deburr around the handle pin holes. It makes really pretty boolits now. Drops at .359”. After a few thousand bullets cast I had to epoxy all the handles back on and set screw the spur plate pivot pin.

Diameterwise, my new Lee six hole TL356-124-TC casts .357" across the front band, .360" across the rear band. Perfect for unsized loading in .38 Special. Dunno about lubing in a lubrisizer, I tumble 'em.

As for out of round and oversized boolits with Lee six holers, I've long had trouble with that till I learned to never touch the sprue plate handle while casting. Squeezing it along with the mould handles causes the front part of the mould blocks to spring apart enough to cause oversized, oval boolits, with fins in the worst cases.

I use the LEE 125gr rn nose 9mm bullet in my nines (after sizing them) and also the 38 spl's without much sizing just lubing them in a lyman size and luber.

I need to make power floor for IDPA and have to use 5.2gr titegroup to make consistent velocitys in the 38spl's.

It shoots well out of both 9mm and 38spl.

I shoot most of my ppc with a clark built 38 special using a rcbs 122 grain round nosed bullet sized to 358. Its one of the most accurate cast loads ive found in that gun.
