So I busted out the 91/30. :) (Been sitting in the safe since February and I hadn't shot it since I picked it up)

1932 Tula
Hex Receiver
Beautiful bore
Much better trigger than my M44

50yds.
5-10mph winds
314299 from pure WW's sized at .313
18.8 grains of 2400
WLR
Privi case

First 3 rounds (after the fouling shot) went into .42
Next 2 rounds widened it out to 1.41.

I don't know if it was me getting too excited from looking through the spotter between shots or in consistency of my loads or just bad shooting on my part, but even the 5 shot group is ALOT better than the 2 - 2 1/4 I've been getting from the same loads in my M44. (I really need to spend more time on the M44 trigger as I'm 99% sure that's the cause.

Pretty good shooting from anyone's .30 cal. rifle ! !

I'm impressed.

I'm thinking if I could get the trigger on my M44 to be as nice as my pre-war 91/30 I could shoot the same type of groups but who knows? If it rains alot this weekend maybe I'll make up some more shims and do some polishing. :)

Have a good one,
Dave
