My daughter came down from Mass to spend a few days and wanted to shoot. We took my .475 BFR and my SBH along with the mark II Ruger.
We set water bottles at 50 and 100 yards. I took the first at 100 with the .475 and Chris took the next. Then she went with the .44 at 50 and busted water bottles one after the other. No problems at all.
Grandson was there and he did good with the .22 but refused to shoot the big ones. His mother would beat the pants off him anyway. She was a Marine while he lives in video games.
Chris loves the .475. Hey, first shot at 100 yards to bust a water bottle! DANG!

Good for her.

If it was a 20 gallon water bottle and I had maybe 2 sighters - I might be able to do that.;-)

I was surprised myself. My other daughter, Kim, shot the highest score in the marines ever shot by a woman and beat the men. But Chris was never as good. Maybe I misjudge her.

So it sounds like your daughter has the record? Last I knew a woman held the record on Paris Island, she must be the one! Good for her.

When? I'd like to research that. It would be an interesting footnote in history, and something cool to talk about!

I don't remember the year, been a long time. Kim was always a good shot and when she was small I would hand her my little flint lock, hang a bottle on a tree branch at 75 yards and she would break it off hand. She always missed the first shot on clays with a 20, then run the rest until we were out of shells. I would go in and get the 12 and she would miss the first and run me out of clays or shells again.
I will see if she remembers any dates but after, any woman that shot high was promoted to the next grade.

Awesome for her!! Yes, I'd definitely be interested in when. Does she still hold the record, or was it surpassed?
