I am looking for published loads to allow me to safely push 190 grain gas-checked in my .357 Mag. revolver at max or near-max velocities. My Lyman Handgun book doesn't go up to 190 grain cast, and I see some 200 grain stuff online, but I am looking for 190 grain. Preferably, Unique, 2400, H110, Power Pistol, HP-38, HS-6, Titegroup, Bullseye powders. Anyone see such a recipe? I am willing to buy said manual, since I have 1000 gas-checked on-hand.
Thanks, in advance.

Start with 200gr lead starting data (with similar profile) and work up your load.

In my win 94 I use 11.5gr of 2400 1250fps but very accurate std primers win or CCI oal 1.6" work up from 10gr .

The Lee manual has a pretty good selection of the 200gr lead .357Mag loadings, 19 different powders.
Would be happy to email you a .PDF of the specific page, just PM me your email addy if you'd like it.

190 grain will have less pressure than 200 grain so safe to start at start loads and work up watching for accuracy and pressure signs. My experience is you will lose accuracy before seeing pressure.

I doubt that you will find an exact recipe. What mold is it? If they were purchased contact the mfg for a source for load data.

Pressure is not affected by weight alone. Two bullets of the same weight can have different profiles affecting case capacity. Be Careful.

jmort: Thanks for those specs. That's the info I was looking for. Both of my batches of 500 appear to be from the same mold, and weigh exactly the same, 187 grain.
