Hi There,
I'm thinking about using cast bullets in my 1985 Nagant revolver. I bought a .32 acp drop in cylinder a while back and it works great with 71 grain jacketed bullets. The pistol is surprisingly accurate.

I've got a Lee mould 311-93-1R and I'm wondering about suitable powders and loads for a 93 grain cast bullet in .32acp? Any experience out there you're willing to share?

Thanks!

I don't, but with the original 7.62x38R cylinder I've had satisfactory results with cases reformed from Starline .32-20 brass, using the custom Lee die set Midway sells, the group buy replica "Soup Can" C309-113-F boolit with no check, tumble lubed in LLA, seated to 1.5" OAL, and 3.0 grains of the Nitro 100 I had handy. That's not a pressure or velocity tested load, it was a wild guess from comparison with Red Dot cowboy action .32-20 loads. Seems safe in my Nagants, but is probably near top end. The Nagant's pretty sturdy, though. I've been told that the Russians made 7.62x25 conversion cylinders for them.

I'd like to try loading up some in full length cases. Need to buy some of that Hot Shot ammo to reload.

I plan to buy a 311-93-1R six holer. I can use that in 7.62x25 as well as in the Nagant, and can experiment with it for plinker loads in the .30 caliber rifles.

I use 2.7 grains of Alliant Herco under a 90 grain Hornady swaged SWC in a Walther PP. The same load should work for your 93 grain RN.

I also have listed 2.0 of Alliant Unique or 2.0 of Winchester 231 for use with the 90 grain SWC, but I haven't used either of those loads.
