Anyone paper patching a 300 whisper. I have a few 220 gr rolled up on the bench ready to load up. This bullet on the soft side around 2000 fps should work on white tail this fall. Was getting ready to try powder coat then got to reading the paper forum said that's for me. I'm excited.

Didn't think you could get a 220 grn to 2000fps in the whisper.

Hell I'm too scared to try that in my 30-30.

Its not a bolt action thou.
Might be better off in a 308 or 30-06

If at 1000pfs then you could do it if you wanted too but I can't see any reason why,

I'm not to concerned about it I just have never ever thought about this paper patching then found how I could get the paper on the bullet is just neat end results in velocity don't matter. This is just neat.

Unless you are using pure lead or want to tinker, don't see any reason to try it. You might get to 1200 fps.

Be very careful trying to hotrod that cartridge as pressures build very quickly, I don't see a 220 grain bullet going anywhere near 2000 fps.

Yes I know I would be lucky to get 1200 I was excited about how well my first attempt at wrapping went even got em in the case and down range. I did have to trim the paper back some because it wouldn't chamber wrapped out so far. I only did five for testing. I'm going to try again on another 5 and have the paper just the forward band.

This has been working real good so far. I had pretty good results sizing to groove diameter patching then sizing again to groove diameter nice light loads. I can hit the steel plate at 100. So now I've made a size die at bore diameter will patch and size to groove diameter. I plan on grouping these and see if I can hold an inch or close at 50
