Please share any personal experience with the Mossberg 464 SXP 30-30 Win Lever gun as I consider it if I can reload that cartridge.

Well, I do own one, at least the SPX. I bought it barely used, couldn't decide if it was the ugliest rifle I'd ever seen, or the sharpest. Still can't decide.
The only loads I've shot thru it are some Lee TL314-90 SWC, over 4gr Promo, and 2.5gr Clays. I've really just started playing with it.
No reason it can't be reloaded like any other .30-30.

I have a plain Jane 464 and it is so under-rated and under-appreciated. What a great deal. Mossberg worked out the bugs and current production is rock solid.

Thanks imort,

For now I will stick only with the handguns I already own. I reload 9mm Luger and 9mm Federal Rimmed.

Rifle ammo are just to expensive to reload if scavenging shotshells for powder is the ONLY Option for reloading I have.

I love mine too. Nothing fancy, but a very fine rifle for the price

I have had one for about four years. I have loaded hundreds of rounds with the Hornady 160 grain FTX bullet, but have also loaded several hundred Lee C309-170-F, sized at .311. The boolits really shoot a tight group after finding the right powder.

Think again.
I shoot .311 round ball, tumble-lubed in 45-45-10 and seated flush with the neck, loaded over 2 grains of Clays - a shotgun powder. This gets me about 800 fps, and 1" 3-shot groups from 25 yds.
I plan to play with this more, I want to get 975-1000 fps. This will be a varmint load, and hit much harder than a .22.
.311-.312 is size 1-1/2 buckshot.

4-6 grains Red dot - another shotgun powder - behind a 150-ish boolit will still get you good velocities, and impressive thump.

There is a thread or 2 on here about reduced .30-30 loads.
