this one came with my 45acp dies.
i have 1 or 2 with a number of different die sets.
obviously these are needed for something because the original owner took the time to drill a hole in my die set holders just for these items.

Looks like a SWC seating plug to use instead of the typical RN seating plug usually installed in 45 ACP dies.

What brand of dies? I have not seen any seating plugs that looked like that but it does look like that is what it is.

Yep!! That's an SWC seater plug from a Dillon die set. The two sets of pistol caliber Dillon dies I've got both came with RN and SWC plugs. I'll bet if you pull the seater stem on your .45 ACP dies, you'll find it's got the RN plug installed. They're hollow to allow any excess lube to bleed out the top of the die rather than building up in the seater and screwing up your seating depth.

These are found on the early Dillon dies, I'm not sure about the newer ones. The part in your hand needs a 1/4 ID split ring lock washer to insure it stays in place. You can see the shoulder for the LW on the part.
