Anyone have any idea what happened to the supply of Seller & Bellet primers?

Cabelas was running them on sale all spring ling and now for the last few months have been out of stock.

Other suppliers are either out of stock or have a very limited supply.

I should have stocked up when they were available for $19.99 per K.

$19.99 per K? You overpaid by $2 and possibly missed out on a coupon to make the next batch even cheaper ;)

They are foreign made and come over in cargo ships. Pretty easy to see why supply fluctuates. Once they clear customs they will be on the shelf again. I'm sure someone will bring up the fire but I don't think that has any bearing on current availability.

I should have stocked up when Herters had them for less than $3 a K. I am down to my last 2K Herters large pistol.

MAybe S&B is stocking up? You know, the US presidential election is coming.. ;)

Probably ALL manufacturers of guns, ammo and reloading stuff are secretly supporting Hillary. Trump wouldn't be as good for their business possibilities. :kidding:

the primers are the Achilles heal of reloading and I have been stocking up as much as funds allow.

I heard Seller.s had a fire sometime back at one of there plants. That could be the answer.

Eh, I'm more tempted to believe cabela's just does a bulk order and sells it all out before ordering more. I'm awaiting a decent sale before I purchase any more....unless hiltery gets elected then all bets are off.

Fire was a fact. The link between it and current supply is all internet rumor. Any product is subject to limited/no availability at times. Especially things that come here by ship.

I did 15k at the $19.99 . I am not hurting yet, but I am starting to be on the lookout.

I was waiting to get some discounted cabelas gift cards and then stock up at $19.99.
In the spring you could find $50 gift card for $40, then it became $100 card for $85.

The timing just never worked out, and now there are no primers or discount gift cards.

FWIW, Cabelas had the S&B primers at $17.99 per 1000 back in December.

Now that the TV news has announced today that Cabelas was just bought by Bass Pro Shops for several billion dollars, I hope the Cabelas where I shop starts getting them again.

Cabellas has em on sale again - $20/brick, special on shipping $5 with code (57tents).

I needed a variety, did 10 bricks small & large pistol, 6 bricks of small rifle.

This order cost me a little more than I expected as they added in $36 for tax (must have opened a store in NC).

However even with tax & shipping, cost was just over 2.2 cents/primer.

Yes, even the so are $19.99 now.
The last few sales the so were not on sale.
I need to stop by and try to pock some up, I just used up my last spp.

If they are not in stock at the store this time I quit.

I will just wait and make a large order.

You can go to raise.com and buy gift certificates to cabelas/Cabelas.com for 13% off, Cabelas had primers yesterday for $19.99 and $5 shipping for an order over $100 (if you don't want to / can't pick them up. I bought over $250 worth of primers and powder. The ($29.50) in savings paid for the $5 shipping and $20 hazmat. so I got my primers for < $19.99 and I also got some powder I couldn't get locally.:drinks:

Well if they are stored properly they won't spoil. I mostly go with use one and buy two rather than large purchases. I did buy a thousand each of S&B in a couple of sizes to try but haven't gotten to them yet. Most of my stash is CCI but they work well so didn't feel a lot of need to go looking. But if the S&B work well....? Might have to reconsider.

CCI was my go to primmer forever -- now it's hard to find in my area and when available they've gone up $5 a brick

CCI are running between $27 for bulk purchase and $34 buying 1k boxes at a gun show. S&B are generally in mid to lower 20's, enough price difference that for the price of 3 CCI "off the shelf" one could buy 4 S&B.

I see those primers on the shelves at my local Cabela's all the time but never more than two sizes at a time. Haven't figured out why yet since it never seems to be the same sizes. Price is regularly 26.99 per 1000 is memory serves which is at least $5 cheaper than other brands. I have been using them a lot without problem.
