what do i do with this thing?
in my god knows how old Dillon manual it is referred to as a alignment tool #72.

when you take the shell plate base off the press for whatever reason you use that to align the base to the tool head m I used it on a 450 when I upgraded to a 550.........Dean

Yup
I think you drop the pointy end down to the primer ram hole ,through the powder funnel tube . This checks the stack up , to avoid the ,bent -smashed - Heeled over primers . There is some minor adjustment under the shell plate ( 2 screws ) & prime system .

looks like it needs a little tlc or a few minutes with some steel wool. But the use was mentioned above.

i gave it a naval jelly bath then oiled it.
it looks much better.

My 450's been disassembled for years (bought it on a trip to Scottsdale from Mike hisself in 1980) and I had forgotten that old rusting piece. Now I'm gonna clean it up and see what it'll do.
