I have been offered an old single shot Stevens rifle that is 32-long caliber. I am not familiar with this round and wonder if it is the same as the .32 S&W Long? If so is this caliber easy to reload with cast bollits? Thanks for the education.

I bet it's the 32 Long rimfire round, which you can verify by looking at the firing pin placement. If so, that case is about the same as the 32 Long Colt and is smaller in diameter than the 32 S&W Long. Messy terminology, eh?

There is a Thread on reloading the 32 Long RF cartridge that gives information on Forming cases and Possible loads that have been Tested and used.

I've seen a couple of those little rifles that were reworked into centerfire and the chamber polished to accept the 32 S&W Long cartridge. The bore on the 32 Rimfire, 32 Colt and 32 S&W are all within acceptable tolerance. I cast load and shoot the same diameter and weight bullets in 32 S&W cartridges and 32 Colt cartridges.
