I discovered a new use for ingots today. We are in the middle of painting the interior of our house and instead of using masking tape to hold our drop cloths down, I said to the wife, "I got something that will work great and cost nothing!" She finally appreciated my store of ingots! The kept the dropcloth against the baseboards very well and didn't waste tape. :)

Lead. Paint. The two of them just seem to go together naturally don't they? No matter the EPA...

My mom is training her service dog to carry small loads, and pull a cart. She "borrowed" several 1 and 1/2 lb ingots, in order to get the loads correct weight and evenly split in the pack. She spraypainted the ingots so as to not be handling raw lead all the time.

Had a kitten hang around my back yard and it didn't weigh enough to spring my trap. Placed an ingot on the foot of the trap and the kitten then sprung the trap. ( was able to then provide the poor little kitten needed nourishment, pampering, medical attention and transportation).

A coffee can full of ingots placed on a board to hold it from tipping while the end is cut off works well. Sort of a "third" hand if you will.

the best use of a lead ingot that i have found ,is to stack them up ,untill the floor collapses in what ever shed they are stored in .

I was going to suggest throwing the cat and a few ingots into a bag and tossing them into a lake, but that would be a terrible, terrible waste of lead.

Floodgate--Yes Doug going soft in my old age. I just couldn't stand to see that poor kitten in my backyard in dire need of transportation to the humane society where it could be fed a large dose of much needed euthanizing medication. Not enough med to kill it--just to euthanize it.
