Looking for a .414 Lee type push through sizing die

Hello All
Dale Hodges here other wise known as no34570 on this forum,have been away from shooting a casting for about 2 years or more for ill health and in a very tight monetary situation,but things are looking better and my health is vastly improved,so I am back with a vengeance.

I have got a rifle built on an Eddystone M1917 action that used to be 303/25 made into a 405 Winchester(I love the big bores and just old calibers )I am shooting cast but have no .414 sizing die for it,I have asked Buckshot,but he does not make them anymore,I even asked Al(SwedeNelson)but he said at the moment it would be along time before he could add it to his lineup,BUGGER!!!

I could get a custom Lee push through size and lube kit from Lee for $38US and a 6 week wait,but I do not need the Cast bullet hopper or the lube as I have plenty of them,so is there anyone making the Lee Push through sizing die,just the die and shellholder ram in .414 and will send to Australia and I would be able to use Paypal????
anyone?

They aren't very complicated, do you know anybody that has a lathe?

Failing that, are there any local machine shops near you?

Lee won't provide one WITHOUT the Alox lube and the round plastic case? Seems like if they made a custom die they'd be willing to forego the extras, but I haven't asked them.

I know no one with a lathe and the nearest town that would have anyone that could or might want to do it is over 165kms away one way from me and I have asked a few down there and they want nothing to do with it.

I have emailed Lee asking that question in case I have to go that path,will wait and see I suppose.
Maybe I should have gone with a caliber that has more reloading tools and gear available than the 405Win,but at the time distributors here were bringing in stuff for the 405Win,but now,nothing :(

If you can find a shipper who will accept a die and punch and ship it to you I can buy one off ebay and modify the die and make a punch. It won't be cheap but it will be .414"

Really doesn't matter *who* does the die, they still have to have an export license to ship it.

The last two special sizers Lee sent me this year was sent bare in a tube and cost $40.00.

to me here in Australia it will be alot more!
A mate that I have in the US is getting me the die and will send it on to me,bloody legend !!!!

Not surprising. But no hazmat fee because of the Alox, right? That's what's kept me from ordering a special die, I don't want to pay a hazmat fee to receive something I don't want, won't use, and already have lots of.

It might be possible to open the regular .401 die lee sells without a lathe. I know I've modified a number of mine at least a few thousandths with a drill rod wrapped in sandpaper, chucked in a drill press. A few I've opened 3-4 thousandths, so it may be possible.

Probably be easier to start with a .410 sizer.
