Thinking about picking up this pistol to compliment my Starsky and Hutch Model 39-2 from the 1970's.
I am liking the Ruger SR9 and American Pistols but which?? CB's only!

Well, I happen to own both a SR9 & one of the new Americans in 9mm.

Either one can handle the cast slugs easily. The American may do better in using cast,,, but I haven't shot it enough yet to say for sure. But for daily use & carry, and all around,,, the SR9 would get my nod. Slimmer, comfortable to shoot, and all around nice. The American is a tank. Bigger, stronger, and built with military specs in mind. I'd suggest you handle each one prior to a purchase to see what feels best in your hands.

SR9 series is a great Cast shooter. I have the Compact. I also recommend the Ruger 9E. It has become my favorite shooter.
