Has anyone done this? I have a broken handle on my culver conversion #55 and have a spare measure with a good handle. It looks like they may have been driven like rivits? maybe ground off set screws? Just want some advice before I start drilling and get out the torch :)

Got bored today so I tackled this project. Turns out there are two small drive pins that need to be removed and it comes right off. I drilled the first one out since I didnt know what I was getting into. The second one was driven out using the hole I had just taken the other pin out of. Now i just need to tap a few 6-32 holes and im back up and running.

I also have a 55 with a broken handle. If anyone has a spare, I sure could use it.

If the Handle is Cast Iron, it could likley be Brazed back together.

you can wire weld it - just do one or two tacks at a time - let it cool fully - repeat

it may take a couple days to get it done

Mine one of the old gray ones and the top part of the handle broke off. I was able to drill a hole and added a kitchen cabinet knob. I cut the screw shorter and installed the knob.
