New member here as of this morning, but have been reading and learning quite a bit from you guys over the last several months. Ive been shooting BP since I was about 15, my first rifle being a 1-66 twist Cabelas Hawken. That rifle suffered from a bit of neglect over the years and is now pretty much unshootable. Perhaps I will rebarrel it at some point...

In the mean time, I picked up a like-new, unfired TC Renegade last year, serial # L75XX (yes, its lefty too). I just got it back from the smith who installed the TC 7190 & 7210 sights which I found on Track a couple weeks ago.

Im holding off on shooting it until my Dyna-Tek Bore Coat comes in (i realize it may be snake oil, but want to try it anyway),I can cast up a few maxi's, and pick up a pound of 3f, but I have high hopes for this one for deer this fall. I will post some 5x5's for you all once I get it sighted in.

Well done , and a good start that is the reason I got interested in casting , for my 50 cal knight , but I have got so side tracked I have almost forgot it . Your going to have a blast . I have been looking at the thread on making your own black powder , and am in awe of the information freely shared on this sight . Have fun and be safe .

Welcome aboard. Fun place here at castboolits. FYI, there is a guy, Bob Hoyt, who is a master at reboring barrels. Not knowing your particulars or rifle, he can generally make a larger caliber out of your old, pitted barrel. Plus, he will cut the rate of twist that best suits your choice of boolit. Nice gun. Nice sights. Should get a nice size deer with it. Hey wouldn't that be ni~>GREAT!!
Glad to read your shooting a traditional rifle instead of a inline. Just saying for about the same cost of re-barreling your old rifle from EBay parts. Its quite possible to have it re-bored larger and with a twist-rate that accommodates your needs of shooting. Oh. Let me be the 7th or so to welcome you here too.
