I'm thinking of buying one, and there is basically only one review thread that I can find here on it. Does anyone else use this furnace, and do you like it? Thanks!

Old? The Mag 25 has been out how long, 3.5 years?

Mine worked fine, but I was fooled by an RCBS thermometer that was 40-60F off (depending on overall temp). So I bought a Lyman dial thermometer, and it was 90-100F off at casting temperatures. So, I sent the "furnace" back to Lyman, they calibrated it. Then it held temps a little tighter, but my two bad dial thermometers were still disagreeing, with each other and the Mag 25. After much discussion with Lyman, they sent me a new dial thermometer, which was reasonably accurate.

Anyway, after going through all that, I had used the Mag 25 more in 2 months then I usually cast in 2 years, trying to figure out what was going on. I have to say I like it, and now that I've gone PID, it's hard to use my other non-PID pots.

Ben casting seriously for about a year, started with the Lyman Big Dipper ( worked great). 3 months ago moved the Mag 25, it didn't take long to get used to it. It has worked wonderfully for me.

I've got one and like it. I haven't used it much and am still in the process of dialing it in but I like what I've seen so far. The mold guide doesn't fit LEE 6 cav molds (they are too wide) and I've got a Mihec brass mold that will not fit it but Lyman & RCBS fit like a champ. I removed it (very easy to do) and just use a block of wood under the spout for support.

I would pass on it based on their other products and poor customer service.

Bought an older but unused lyman dial caliper. Screws backed out over three uses. Lost its zero.
Brand new 1500 microtouch scale. Second use and it keeps losing zero every time I take the brass pan off it.

Emailed them sunday, no response yet. Going to call in a bit, but if my understanding is correct I am on the hook for paying shipping to get their mistakes repaired. The rcbs pot is a little smaller and no pid, but I know I won't have to pay for their mistakes.

I've recently purchased one. Will be breaking it in this weekend with 2 new molds, a 440gr 50 for the new 500 S&W Encore barrel that will be delivered tuesday and my new accurate molds 147gr PC 5 cavity mold. I've used nothing but Lee bottom pour pots for 25 years.

So Moonie, how does it compare to the Lee?

Mine is working fine. I had the guide machined out a little to accept the LEE molds. Works great. Don't have to monitor temp any more.

I'm really enjoying mine now that I have the stream adjusted the way I like. Making beautiful boolits. Yes the mold guide bugs me, but it's a small issue really.
