Anyone have any experience with this mould? SAECO shows this mould as casting .378-.379 and 265 gr. from their "Lawrence Magnum Alloy" and, using their numbers, somewhere around 273 gr from straight WWs. Anybody tried casting this boolit from, say, 20-1 and, if so, what were the "as cast" dia. and weight?

The Saeco #373 is a .376" diameter. I had this mould, works good for a 375 Win, as most are .376 groove. I used WW+12% Lino.

The only way you are going to get this to drop a .378-.379 is to lap the mould, especally in 1:20 which usually drops .001-.002 smaller than WW alloy.

Why do you want to shoot 1:20 with a GC Boolit? To hunt?
Want 265-270 gr @.378-.379, Get a Lyman #375449 FNGC.

Alas, the #373 that I have casts right at .376". That's fine for me as I'm shooting it in a Number 1 Ruger in .375 H & H and a .38/55 with a Douglas .375" barrel.

Shoots great in them but if you're looking for abigger diameter bullet, you'll have to go elsewhere.

Mine weighs right at 267 grains, checked and ready to shoot./beagle

Thanks guys for the quick answers. Had one offered to me by someone who doesn't cast...I think he got the mould along with a .375 Win. he picked up last winter...but .376 is a tad small for the .377 bore of my Uberti Highwall. Would like to find a mould that drops 275-295 gr. at .379-.380 but there doesn't seem to be anything readily available that fills the bill. Gues I'll have to stick with my old Ohaus RNFP for awhile.

.379-.380/290 gr - that would be a Lyman #375296 FNGC, I had one, and sold it , like a dummie, hard to come by. Someone here on ths board has one. Next best thing is have one made, or get a Saeco #571 300 gr(tapered, but when sized to .380, the bottom .375" will be to size)

Kraschenbirn,

Hav you looked at the Saeco #571? Often overlooked by many, but will work good for your Uberti 1/18 twist. Here's some of the specs:
300 gr Tapered FP .375 front band-.382 base band
1.120" oal
I sold my Uberti Highwall to Buckshot's buddy Glen, he's still shoot this boolit.

I have a 4 cavity #373. Like the others, mine casts @ .376-.377. :(
