Got this ProMelt from my FIL. It was in pretty bad shape.173132173133173134 Got it back from RCBS today and for $109 they replaced the following: Pot, nozzle, shut off pin, switch, internal wiring, heating element and thermostat. Now i need to clean up the rust and maybe a little paint on the base.173135173136I'm really happy with RCBS!

much cheaper than mine cost, bet it still runs like a champ! Just a little spray paint job and back in business.

Curious, why not try cleaning it up before you sent it off?

I did clean it up. I could have repainted but I was curious if they would repaint it or replace the case and base too. It will be easy painting the base now and the upper part looks just like my other Pro-Melt so I'll use it as is.

Makes sense, what were the chains on the top towards the back being used for?

when I sent mine back I asked about painting...guy says they're not a paint and body shop.

Used high temp paint and it has held up well.

What brand and color paint did you use? FIL was melting zinc and poured into a heavy home made sinker mold. Plugged up the bottom spout. He's one of those guys that modify's and makes his own tools. He had made so many changes I was concerned RCBS wouldn't work on it.

LMAO if it was me....whichever can of spray paint I have in the garage :D. I think it was forest green hi-temp paint that someone used recently and it looked almost identical to the original.
