Well I just can't seem to find any data on a load for this bullet.

Any body got some good "mild to wild" H322 data?

Maven has a lot of experience using this powder. Perhaps he has loaded the 45-70 with it. If nobody comes to the aid here, I would suggest using 3031 statistics for a 500 grainer. Bounce around the average load as obtained from the reloading books as a beginning load for your boolit. Make sure your boolit diameter is large enough for the chamber, like a tight fit into a fired NEW case. ... felix

The Montanan,
It also depends on which .45-70 rifle you are using. A Trapdoor Vs. Ruger No.1 and what you are going to use it for plinking or hunting. It you are using a stronger rifle you might check out the Hodgdon manual the show 50 to 54 gr. in modern firearms for bullets of 385 to 405 gr. A very interesting article on this subject is Ken Waters Pet loads; very well done.

That ought to geddumout! I am curious to see what your trajectory is like with that boolet. My XLR shoots pretty low with that large a slug.
