04jeep,

Welcome to the madhouse.:veryconfu

You did not mention the weapon to be rifle or revolver, and I can't claim any knowledge of 2400 powder, but the RCBS 44-300-SWC shoots great in my Marlin 1894-P, and Super Blackhawk.
10 grains Unique in the "pistole" and 16-18 grains Hodgdon's L'il Gun in the longarm. Velocities with L'il Gun are very stable in the rifle and penetration will hit bottom on about any critter you want to tackle.
The L'il gun load is at the top of the pile, pressure wise, and is no pleasure in a handgun, so I can't advise it. The Unique load is plenty for a whitetail...900-1100 fps [dependant upon barrel length].
A buddy of mine killed 3 does with his Old Model BH last year....4 5/8" barrel, 10 Unique, 240 grain plain base SWC, open sights. His longest was a bit under 75 yards. Deer hit in left ham, femoral artery cut, bullet exitted opposite side just behind ribs. While shot placement was not great, results are what puts meat on the table.

The Lee 310gr chunck of lead going 900 at the muzzle is still going 840 @ 100yrds, plenty of thump for bambi and a pleasure to shoot in my SRH 7.5":Fire:What I plan on using this fall.

18grs 2400. About 1300 from a 7 1/2" barrel. 1550 from a 20" rifle barrel.
