Here's a few photos of a custom rifle I built for a fellow in his early 80s in the mid '90s. He walked in with the Rolling Block action only, and we sat down and talked about exactly what it was that he wanted. I think that I shall never see the likes of this piece of maple again. After he picked the rifle up (well pleased) I never saw it again, but he did phone to let me know that the 500 yd. gong was a piece of cake. It was a .45-70. Naturally he poured his own boolits!

Wow what a tiger! I wonder if you would mind explaining the forend. It looks like some kind of Super Schnabel! I have not seen it's like.

It's what the man wanted. He could reach out and grab it and pull the gun back into his shoulder, also rest the forend on something. I thought it would look nice with an acorn carved into each side of it, but such was not his desire.

Thanks for the reply. I am sure it worked as desired but there is no accounting for taste! That is a screaming piece of fiddleback though. Rarely see any fully figured like that at any price.
