I picked up from a friend of mine today a 45-70 barrel for my Contender.
Of course it is a pistol barrel. :shock:
It joins my .22 mag, 223, 30-30, 7mm L&L, .375 JDJ barrels.
Now I have 2 7mm L&L barrels. His will go up for sale.
The 45-70 barrel is topped with a 2 power Leupold scope that was in the mounts crooked.
He gave me some brass and 10 loaded rounds. 3 300gr jhp, 4 400, jfn, and 3 450gr, rnfp lead.
I can not wait to shoot this thing.
I will probably shoot everything I have, clean the daylights out of it, slug the bore and order a mold for it.
Not sure what grain yet. Thinking 405.
With any luck my 450 Marlin guide gun will take the same round.
