Good afternoon all.
I have a wildcat round called the 7mm L&L. It is based upon a .444 Marlin necked down in 3 steps to 7mm.
It was made by a gentleman down in the San Diego area I believe.
It is a proven killer and deadly accurate out of my Gen 1 Contender pistol.
My best groups were 3/8 in 3 shot at 100 yards.
My forming and loading dies were custom made at rcbs.
My question is, I have been seeing people refer to this round on the Internet and rcbs is making dies for a round by the same name, but no description is offered.
Is this the same round? Is it also based upon the .444 case?
The reason I ask is that I am aquiring another Contender barrel from a friend of mine because he isn't interested in shooting his as a pistol anymore. He has a 45-70 barrel that is what I really wanted. :-)
I will be selling off his barrel and will provide a dummy round, an empty sized case, and three cases in the various stages of forming , and copies of the load data that has been developed over the years.
Just wondering if anyone has info on this round that I am seeing.
Thanks in advance.

sounds something like a 7mm JDJ.

Kind of but the jdj is a different parent cartridge.
The jdj is based on the 225 winchester.

Ah, ok, I knew lots of the JDJ cartridges were 444 Marline based, forgot that one was 225 based.
