I bought some .405 win. Hornaday brass that was shortened to 2.6, sounds good for my 40/70SS, right ? But when I got them they were 2.060 not 2.6. I can't figure what to do with them, does anyone have any ideas ?

If they cannot be returned how about listing them for sale to be made into 40-50 straight?
