Throughout my life I have generally just order 100 ct lots of rifle brass new , then full length sized , loaded and fireformed to chamber then trimmed to length . But over the last couple years I have been using more brass bought as once fired lc brass , and I like it . But my question is will just full-length sizing without fire forming then trimming work on 223 brass , I understand brass spring back that is why I usually fireform then full length resize again before trimming . Do you gentlemen fire your brass before trimming , or am I just being picky .

First of all, are you going to use them in a semi auto or a bolt action?
In my semi autos I resize, trim, load & shoot.

Bolt action , for cast shooting , I just trimmed 50 after full length sizing without fire forming and after I shoot them I am planning on full-length sizing them again then check length , just to see . I guess that is the best way to see .

But at any time they could find themselves with a jacket in them .

I trim most of my brass .010 shorter than maximum and then shoot until the neck splits.
