Where can I find a copy of "The Load" article by Ed Harris to print out? I have low tech computer skills and can't cut or paste. Thanks. I'm going to play with plain based for a while.

With plain-based bullets in cartridges of .30-'06 size you will better dropping the charge of Red Dot to 6-8 grains. The Load article did not speak to plainbased bullets, only jacketed and GCs.

I noticed he uses this .30 and up. Has anyone applied it to the 7x57 and a cast boolit?

Way too much in the 7x57! About 6-7 grains is a aafe plinker.

the 7's definitely take less powder than the 30's.
even when the case size is the same the bore ratio is not so dropping the load is always going to produce better results.
about a 20% drop seems to be where I end up.

I have gone up to 7 in smaller rifle calbers, works well even in .223 rem.

Generally speaking my most accurate loads have all been down in the 4.5- 4.6 area.

With the exception of my .444 marlin in a Handi rifle.
That cartridge just plain likes 13 grains of Red Dot behind a 310 grain boolt.

First 3 rounds fired gave me a 50 yard cloverleaf with all 3 intersecting about 1/3rd.

Thank you fellas! That took care of that. I'll adjust down for the no gas check loads. On a side note I've scored an 8 .lb jug of Aliant Promo so with that and my Red Dot stash I'm gtg.
