Had a friend give me a box of lead bullets that he had bought for his .30 cal rifle. They are sized .309 and have gas checks. When I load them with 26 grains of BL-C(2) powder they lead the barrel. Not really bad but bad enough that I have to clean after shooting. Does anyone here have a starting point that I could use to load these to about 1100 to 1200fps? The bullets weigh 150 grains. I am shooting these out of a Marlin 336 with micro groove barrel. I have been told to use a bullet sized to .311 but would like to use these to.

8.0 gr up to 10.0 gr Unique. Good plan, lowering the velocity to 1100 to 1200 FPS should help to reduce the leading. Also, maybe a coating of a tumble lube like Lee Liquid Alox would help, too.

tumble lubing them would help.
might even fix your problem.

Perfect place to give Ben's Liquid Lube a try.
If that does not do it I would drop charge until leading slowed to a crawl.
I am using a .312 in my Win 94 .30-30 at around 1000 fps with good results.
Bullet fit is first, then lube, alloy, charge, powder, etc IMO.
.309 seems a touch small and I suspect your 26 grains is more than the alloy can handle adding to the problem.
YMMV

But the short answer is: No, you can't find a load that will shoot a too small boolit without leading with anything approaching a normal velocity. Fit is King and there is really no other answer. If you can melt and re-cast or give them back to your friend and tell him you need .312" boolits.

If I had bullets that did not fit I would clean them up and powder coat them. That would add a little diameter and also help to prevent leading even as too small. Never thought I would say that but it does work and has it's place. Also might depend on how many you have.

Unless you don't mind cleaning after every shooting, I agree with this statement. Microgroove barrels need fatter boolits.
You could also think about paper patching them too.
