I am looking for a holster that will fit my 7.5 inch Ruger Old Army. If any of you have one of these and a commercially manufactured holster that fits well I would really appreciate your input, Thanks in advance. H-2

I use the Hunter brand # 1100-50 for my Ruger Old Army. Sportsmans Guide lists them under field holsters for 7 1/2" single action large frame revolvers.

Mine fits in an Uncle Mikes Sidekick size 4.

Thanks for the tip. I often wondered if one for a regular single action would work with the loading leaver. Sportsman's Guide is cheap too, :drinks:

I found a flap holster on ebay that was made by Bianchi for the Old Army

The # 1100-50 from Sportsmans Guide runs about $35 but the Hunter from Cabelas has more style. I like the Bianchi most of all since it offers more protection and looks great.

I went to Cabelas to find a holster and found this http://www.edsoutdoors.com/image/products/big-pics/0628367.jpg I like the way it fits other than the trigger guard is exposed on the outside but I think thats the way its supposed to fit. It is for large frame centerfire revolvers the package said examples are colt new frontier, Colt single action army, Ruger Blackhawk and Vaquero. I think thats about as close to the old army as there is as far as a large frame centerfire single action? :coffee:

I have a flap holster similar to the Bianchi but without markings and is rough side out. I have no idea who made it as I bought it at an estate auction when I bought the ROA. It is obviously great for retention and protection, and I'm not into quick draw anyway. DALE
