Did anyone finish any of those blanks into a nice stock?
I have a Stevens 200 rifle still in plastic and contemplating getting CaliCo 2nd and finishing into a stock.
Another one is already in a Boyd's stock so I could template the inletting from that and transfer into the blank, so that should not be too difficult.
How much had to be repaired from what caused it to be a 2nd?

Have fitted a couple and generally from what I have seen, they can be worked up into a nice stock.
The several I did had a minor crack, a sap pocket and several other minor flaws. All easly hidden , a couple spots actually worked out in thinning the wood and in one case we had to use a small inlay.
They seem to be a very solid stock with minor flaws.
A bargain for the money I think.

Great response, just what I was looking for, thank you!
When you were buying, were you given a choice of wood or any pictures to choose from?
