Forgive me if this is a redundant question. I've done a search and didn't get an answer that I understood.
Can a CVS .357 mag be rechambered for .357 max., not necessarily a custom barrel, however that is an option.
Thanks,
Bill

While I do not have one, yet, I know of no reason not to.

Might want to check out the graybeardonline forums. H&R centerfire rifles. They are kind of the experts on reaming to .357 max and single shots. Plus they rent reamers to members pretty reasonable.

I have a Handi rifle and reamed it to 357 Maximum specs. It is more accurate than when it was a magnum....

I gave up trying the Handi route. I don't that much time until another comes around. Even tried to have a barrel made, but that is another forum.

Yes it can. I have one and was thinking of going that route...even though I already had a 14" Contender in Max. I decided against it as the 357 CVA gives outlandish performance in .357mag, anyway. I get 1700fps from the mag...and that will do anything that I want to do. After deciding against maxing the CVA, I sold my Contender barrel...that was last month. The Max was fine, but unless something changes, with Remington stopping producing brass (as I understand they are) I see the Max brass getting harder than it already is, to find. Just another hassle that I don't want to deal with. JMO

Where are you going to find one ? I don't know why but the scout rifle has never been offered in 357 mag ? Supposedly they made the pistol in 357 but I have never seen a scout rifle and I know many people besides myself have sent CVA emails asking for them.

I am aware of one in 35 remington that was re-chambered in 358 Win. Shoots fine.

My shoulder knows all about another .35 Rem CVA Hunter that was rechambered to .358 Win. I quit at 35 grs. of 3031 with a 230 gr. bullet. Like a lot of rifles, the CVA is more accurate than I am and a way better value than a Handi-rifle.

CVA has nevered offered a single shot rifle in .357 Mag. Pistol yes, but no rifle.

Have a 7mm08 little short Hunter and darn sure more accurate than I am capable of, but I try.[smilie=l:
