Now if they'd only build it on an officer sized handle......

Maybe a .38 Super is next? That would be neat.

FWIW, I saw a test write-up on another site. Author said the factory uses a light "target" type recoil spring to help with cycling el-cheapo plinking ammo. This made for unpleasant shooting with full-power self defense loads. Author dropped in a standard power Commander spring and was much happier. I can handle that. I'm just waiting for the first mad rush to get done, then I'm getting one.

What's not to like except the SRP?

Very nice, I believe Ruger either uses a ramp barrel, or a stainless feed ramp insert from what I've read. Makes a LW Commander much more desirable in my mind.

Soap box time:razz:

9mm is about as tame as it gets, in a nice real metal gun. Ruger seems to have jumped on the "lighter is better" bandwagon. Doggone shame. I noticed their full sized 45ACP's are part aluminum too.

Can't expect a 26oz gun to handle like a nice full size 36oz 1911 in the same caliber. I'd hazard a guess though......it's probably not much more to handle than a 38 with somewhat warmish loads, if anything it's probably a cupcake compared to the wheel gun.

I'm done

Looked great until I read, aluminum grip frame. How many times must I tell you people, the use of aluminum should be restricted to airplanes and screen doors. GEEEZ!

They make 8 model's for there SR1911 in 45 acp so I would aspect them to make a steel frame one for the 9mm as well give the a few months I'm thinking one will find it's way in my house just after Christmas
if I'm good

some say the 9mm isn't accurate. I had an sti Trojan in 9mm that was hands down the best shooting 1911 ive owned and one of the most accurate handguns period that I ever owned. I like to try one of these rugers myself but like the other poster would like to see it in a commander sized gun. Make mine a commander with adjustable sights.
