Kind of just bragging here but I just shot my first cast loads and I'm ecstatic. Using water quenched Lee C309-170-F sized to .311 and lubed with LLA, starting at 20grs of Shooters World "Tactical Rifle" (had it laying around) and working up I found the sweet spot at 24grs. Went all the way to 26grs which is a starting load for jacketed but it performed best at 24. The Ol Marlin 336 shot like a dream and had no noticeable leading. Already ordered more lead, molds, hi-tek and powder coat... Hoping this addiction doesn't end in divorce.

Scope wasn't zeroed and I did have one flyer but I wasn't expecting that kind of accuracy right out of the gate!

Can you reach to your back? Well then...give yourself a few well deserved pats on the back...you did good!

What range? I have a BEAUTIFUL one-hole 5-shot group out of my 35 Whelen - done @ 25 yards...171831

50 yards. Thats some sweet shooting! I figure under 2 inches at 100 yards is plenty for my shooting abilities and in my area, you aren't going to get a hunting shot past about 100 yards so I am more than content.

Just as good as hooking a big bass and that is one great feeling! Just got back from the gun show and bought "WAY too much" reloading stuff (told the wife that's interpretive).
