Don't see many loads using this bullet anyone tried with good success? I have searched didn't see many at all wondering if it was just cause the swc don't feed well or what but a 170 grain pill through a deer should get the job done!

Although I haven't used the Lyman 358429 in my 35 Remington, it works very well in my 357 Maximum. However, I like the RCBS 35-200-FN very much in the 35 Remington. It has the advantage of a smooth profile that feeds well in a lever action rifle.

I have the Lee C358-200-RF that drops at 206 out of my mold with COW. Loaded it up for my single shot CVA 35 remington and it shoots great. Pushing it a bit hard maybe getting 2100 FPS but the CVA can handle it. Seems like H4198 has been the best powder so far.

Hi Rosewood,

Have you tried H4895? This is my favorite powder for cast bullet rifle ammunition.

Take care, Tom

Tried it with Pat-Marlins pb gas check for reduced loads in 358 Win. Seemed OK with no leading and decent accuracy for as far as I got, but I've been side tracked from it for months now, so please keep us posted if you get some good results.

Nope, never used any H4895 myself. I know it is a timeless workhorse, but have just never tried it. I bought the H4198 for 45-70 cast and someone suggested to use it in the 35 and it is awesome with both the 180 SSP and the 200 grain cast. I found a load that meets my standards so I stopped there.

I will but looks like more home work for this project. I did start with two 1894s one 357 and a 44 both are doing great. I need to mod the 357 for the long -429 but its the best out of all my pistols so far. I remember someone saying it done good in a 35 rem trying to figure it out but who don't like testing? Thanks for all the responses guys!!!!

I have a 1894CP myself but have yet to try the 200 grain in it. I seat it way long in the contender .357 but am pretty sure I will not be able to do so in the Marlin. I did however use a Beartooth 185grain WFNGC boolit in it and have had excellent results, but that was before I started casting myself.
