New to the forums here and been an avid reloader for years. I am just starting to cast my own bullets for economic reasons and I need some help with what top punch to use. Shooting a S&W 500 and I am using a Lee 2-Cavity C501-440-RF 501 Diameter 440 Grain Flat Nose Gas Check mold and I can not seem to find what top punch I need to use, I am using a Lyman 4500 sizer. I have my sizer die and 500 bullets cast and ready to go. Any help would be appreciated.

For flat point boolits you can use a 1/4" bolt that does not have threads all the way to the head. Cut the bolt to the same length as the shank of a Lyman top punch. File the markings off the head of the bolt. If the top punch must enter the sizing die, grind and/or turn the head of the bolt down. A dab of bullet lube will hold the top punch in place. A better fitting punch can be made from a 7mm bolt turned down a little.
