Is there a chart or reference to how hard tin is?
I’ve got this Cabin Tree tester and I’m testing everything with it under the sun.
I have 15lbs of pewter to melt down (still in the tea set form) and was curious how pure the tin content is.
Something like this is what I’m after if it’s even out there.
Tin
100% Brinell ……… 10
95% Brinell………….9.5
90% Brinell………….9
And so on, if you know what I mean. Since pewter can range from 8X%~ 9X% tin, I wanted to know were I stand in pureness.
Or I could just be over thinking everything again and just want to test stuff that really isn’t needed.
By the way I really love this tester and can’t say enough good things about, such a straight forward way to test lead.
