View Full Version : Finding twist of rifle barrel??

Have a 5.7 spitfire carbine but do not know what the twist is nor who made it. How do I go about finding out the twist??

Cleaning rod with a brush attached inserted from the muzzle. Push it in so it is still engaged with the rifling. Put a piece of tape around the rod so it is touching the crown of the barrel making a flag. Pull the rod out until the tape flag makes one revolution then measure from the muzzle to the tape. 10 inches equals 1/10 twist ect.

The bare bones simplest, most accurate way.
