I had tummy problems big time for a long time. I then started taking Dexilant. Problems solved. Ask your doctor. And make sure you have very good prescription insurance!!!!!! I pay $120 for 180 pills. Without insurance that same bottle is over $5,200.00! One/day does it.

Good luck.

Prayers up here in Ga. for you, USMC. Stomach stuff will bring a man to his knees! Napoleon didn't comment that "an army marches on its stomach" for nohtin'! Wish you all the best here.

Prayers up for USMC. I've had problems with acid reflux, ect. and there's a couple of things you can do. You're getting the first thing done today. Along with the scope your Endoscopist will do biopsy's (if needed) and also check for H Pylori; a bacteria which can be treated with antibiotics with great success. The other thing is a H2 blocker or PPI to reduce gastric acid formation. Those along with the esophageal inlet dilation that comes with the scoping you're having today should tune you up.

OK guys I'm back from the scope and here is the news, I have a small to medium hernia some striping kinda like a water melon. The doc biopsied a few places and says that he stopped my Ibuprofen which I took to help with Psoriatic arthritis pain. I know that all things are for our good and Gods glory, Thank God for his love and mercy upon us! Thanks for being there for me, I draw strength from all of you, Craig

Could have been worse, at least it sounds like they can treat it and take care of you!

Your doctor will probably put you on a proton pump inhibitor medication to reduce the damage from excess acid. Stress is a big factor too!!!!! Ibuprofen can tear your stomach apart, just like aspirin.

There are alternatives to the ibuprofen(likely a narcotic) to help the pain and stop tearing up the stomach.

How are you doing off the ibuprofen?
