Finally got a chance to get out and do some shooting with this new 41 WC.
Wanted a nice target load for my Smith 58's so I casted up a bunch with 70% wheel weight and 30 % Linotype. Loaded her up with 7.0 grains of Unique for just over 900 fps. Boy is this a nice load, easy on the old smiths, easy on the shooter and accurate as the day is long. Just slaps plates down at 25 and 50 yards, Shoots great out of my 41 Blackhawk also.

This one is going to get a whole lotta use... thanks Leftoverdj for running this buy.

Glad to hear it, fellows. I haven't done as much with that mould as I should have myself. Life interferes. What little shooting I have done with it has been in the same general range you are shooting, c. 900 fps. That's still a serious load, and I'd like to get down to around 750 fps for reduced recoil and a pure target load. I can live with 900 fps if that's the way it works out.

What top punch (for a 450) are people using to lube/size these coffee cans? I tried all the toppunches that I thought might work, but they all tipped the bullets.

Try a round nose or SWC punch that will go over the button part and set on the flat area around it so it will push evenly and straight down.
