You can melt tin on a kitchen stove, or I use my Lee Pot.
If you have that much tin, and want to melt it down, I would melt it so it could be added to lead in a predictable amount. Knowing what your mix would be, you can melt the tin into measured pieces.
I use the 9lbs to 1lb ratio. It seems to be too much tin. I went to a much smaller ratio. I kinda eyeball it. I had to run the mix I had down, then add smaller amounts when refilling.
With the wheel weight melt, I now use much smaller amounts of tin to get my bullets.
Melt it so it can be fooled with that way.
I think I now use 1/2lb 95/5 to 18lbs melt. I eyeball small cupcake tins for the added amounts.

Pure tin melts at 450 degrees.
