Did Lee Precision make a Lee Loader in 7.62x39? They don't list one on line... They do show one for 7.62x54...
So if they don't make a 7.62x39 Loader then what is this guy using??? Anyone speak Russian?

I'd sure like to have a Lee Loader in this caliber for my CZ 527.

The guy clearly said he's using a set for 7.62x39; then he admits he was always scared of hammering down the primer; also he mentioned that 1 piece of brass costs 2 "hrivnas", which indicates that he's in Ukraine (that's their currency). Overall author seems to be satisfied with results.

kayla,
Thanks for the translation. Wonder where he got his Loader?

What's odd is his videos were posted last (2015) year yet I can't find Lee Loader in x39 anywhere on line.
Maybe it was for export only?

He said nothing about where he got it. Could it be comblock special :)

Maybe, but it is a Lee Loader. I'll have to call them next week to see what the deal is...

At one point, IIRC, Lee would make you a custom loader. Not sure of the price, but the simplicity of the design makes one offs fairly easy.

there are a LOT of lee loaders in cartridges on ebay that lee no longer makes/stocks.

just look for a 7.62x25 (got it) or a .380 auto (got it) or a .410 deluxe (got it)
(many others I don't got ;))

I'd say it's a real deal lee loader and probably not a one off/custom, just not a cartridge they produce anymore.

Called Lee today and they say no more custom loaders made... and they have no plans to make one in 7.62x39.

And I looked on ebay and Gunbroker... No joy. :^(

I did find this interesting thread by crakerjack57... and he converted a .303 Lee Loader to reload 7.62x39. See posts 2 and 17.

Might have to try this and see how it works...

Maybe a 7.62x39 Lee loader could be made by shortening the die of a 303 British or 7.26x54 Lee loader.

Hmmm. I was looking for a Lee Loader in 7.62x39, but found none. Got a Lee three die set w/two expanding pins. .307" and .310" from Titan...

FWIW; I'm very careful about nomenclature used on ebay. From my experience 7.62 Russian can be either 7.63x39 or 7.62x54r...

Sorry about the eBay item. Yes, it's the wrong one. I checked the loading data against my Lyman 44th Manual.

+1
Lee would custom make kits per request. There is no telling how many one or few of a kind kits are out there. This website
http://leeloaderdata.com/index.htm (http://http://leeloaderdata.com/index.htm)
lists all the kits the manufactured for sale. To my knowledge there is no lists of special orders.

Please everyone, stop hammering on your reloads, this is 2016.

I just can't understand an appeal of Lee's "whack-a-round"s. I mean the price of a custom made handloader kit would outweigh a set of "regular" dies; what am I missing ?

You have the kit, components, and a mallet, you have everything to reload that cartridge.

I do get it, but for the sake of argument, if you replace "mallet" with "Lee hand press" you have a kit that is almost as compact and way more versitile.

Substitute the lee speed die and it gets real compact.

I bought my last kit, 223 Rem new not used, on eBay for $20 and free shipping. As long as you are not trying to load large amounts of ammo I don't think the kit can be beat for a beginner. I wish I had heard about them when I started.
