Did some searching for these two,
222 Rem Mag
34-40 Krag
22 HP Savage
Seems no one has any.
Could only find one place that had a listing for the 222 Rem Mag.
None for the 22 HP Savage.
Have we seen the last of these shells????
Any other cases that might be gone soon????

There's more than a few that a person would call Unobtainium, that's why I convert some of them.

356 and 307 Winchester are officially dead. I think 375 Winchester is as well.

I was using 303 brass to make my 25 Krag AI brass but found 30-40 brass when I looked a little harder.

Each of the three you mentioned can have usable brass formed from easily available parent brass. Some others it is much harder.

IIRC the first two can be formed from 444 Marlin.

I think it's Sellier and Belot that still loads ammo for the .22 High Power, but it's sold under the European metric name. I hear it's loaded hot, but is otherwise good ammo. It's real easy to make brass from .25-35 brass which isn't hard to find.

You can make them from 204 Ruger easy enough...

here is a link that look like have both the 307 and the 375 http://etbrass.com/Rifle_Brass.html

Here is one to check for the 356 https://www.lohmanarms.com/shop/reloading/metallic-reloading/brass/rifle-brass/rifle-brass-356-winchester/winchester-brass-356-winchester-unprimed-500-rounds-20case/

The point is 356 and 307 are no longer being made. I know brass can still be found. But they are dead cartridges. That's the topic of this thread. If the manufacturers have stopped production then it's dead.

I believe 375 Win is in the same boat. No manufacturer has produced ammo for it in a long time.

I feel your pain. I've been looking for .30 Remington cases to reload for my Grandad's old Model 14, but no one has any. Even Buffalo Arms is out of their converted brass, although I kinda hated to pay that price for it. Jamison says that they're going to produce a run, but have no idea when.

Maybe like .22 Auto Rim, someone will make a run every five years or so.

The 22 Savage HP is also known as the 5.6×52mmR.
You might be able to find some loaded ammo here: http://ammoseek.com/ammo/5.6x52r

Sako still manufacture 222 rem mag, both the brass and factory loaded ammunition. I know this for a fact because I have bought some over here, so I am sure if you look around you should be able to get them over there, you may have to order them in.

A bit pricey though. Over here, the brass nearly cost as much as the factory rounds (which I bought) and there is no way I could have bought the brass and loaded it for the same price as the factory loads.

And, for the record, you can make them from the 204 brass.

Yes they will work in your 22 HP---but---the 5.6x52R is the European designation "parallel" cartridge and they are slightly different in size so they will not last long with respect to continuous reloading.

The Savage 22HP is not mine.
It was given to a friend and he asked about the ammo.
I also found out that it uses a larger .22 bullet. Also kind of hard to find.
Really nice rifle.
Wish I had a Savage 99.

All current factories make what will sell . Or requested to sell. all else are seasonal ( aka obsolete). LGS are not stocking anything they can't sell. and factories don't make what they Can't sell in Bulk. . . That's it Plain and simple. They not making any Money on The few who need it. LGS are not waiting for you or me the come In and ask for it, or Buy it and have it sit in Inventory.
get it where you can , when you can, and pay

Some brass like the Krag seems to be run at times so it can be a waiting game. When it's available buy as much as you can. Places like Grafs and Huntington's are starting to have some made like 9.3x62 and 303 Savage. I always call Huntington's because he will tell you what they have or when he is having a run made. A couple years ago he had Norma run him 100k of 303 Savage. I can't remember what cartridge it was but I got a notice from Starline that they were going to offer a bottlenecked rifle case so that's good news. In the past they were hesitant to jump into bottleneck cases but it looks like the plunge will be made.

Also I just bought 500 Norma 222 Remington from Lohman Arms. They had plenty

I've heard that Starline is going to produce bottleneck cases for years and years. I will believe it when they are for sale. At a minimum you'd think they would start making 357 Maximum brass.

I, by habit, still try to find 218 Bee brass, but I am very blessed to have over 2000, but I am always on the lookout.

You guy's need to buy the book "The Handloader's Manual of Cartridge Conversions" by John J. Donnelly.

Tells you how to convert hundreds of calibers from different brass!

22 HP is easily made from 30-30 brass.

Been doing it for years to feed my Savage 99 take down.

The old logger I bought it from could not tell me within 100 how many deer he had killed with that grey ghost.

PS the correct boolit should mike at .228.
