Lyman 575-213 velocity?

Just Got my Lyman 575-213 Mold yesterday and cast some up @ 510 grains & sized to .576 (Got lucky and bullets were dropping at about 578)

Tried these out today in my PH P53 (39" barrel). 40 gr 3FG Goex shot OK, 45 was better & 50 was much worse - so I figured the 45 gr 3FG is the load I should stick with for now for this gun and so I chronographed a couple and got 915.0 fps and 915.5 fps.

My question is does this velocity sound right for this load? I was expecting lower

Anyone shooting a load similar to this? What velocity do you get

That's about what I would have guessed. 900fps.

32 inch barrel, 575213, GOEX 2Fg, 50gr 723fps, 60gr 806fps, 70gr 889fps. Your 45gr charge of 3Fg would be close to the 70gr of 2Fg.

40 inch barrel, 575213, GOEX 2Fg, 60gr 753 fps.

23.5 inch barrel, 575213, GOEX 2Fg, 60gr 905fps.

Page 202

33 inch barrel, 577611, GOEX 2Fg, 50gr 853fps, 60gr 975fps.

Page 204, 3 Band Enfield!!! Your rifle

GOEX 2Fg, 70gr 1004fps.

I did some more shooting - 70gr Swiss 1.5FG and got 1160 on my Chrono - still seems high - I will try to repeat with another chrono soon as I get a chance

I would expect that from Swiss. It is about 20% hotter than GOEX.

Here's some load data I put together using that Minie as well as other loads. Had the data on my other computer but the Windows 10 debacle pushed on us caused me to lose everything on that unit. However, I posted it to another site & here it is.
