I figured this really should be a new thread. I will admit when I was wrong.

When I started the other thread I stated

Like I said, for the price you can't have everything. I haven't done any indepth accuracy testing (that will happen this summer) and I guess that will be the acid test.

Well, these Gators have passed the accuracy test with flying colors. I posted a few weeks ago about some nice groups I got with my .30-30, and I've shot two Highpower matches with the 03A3 .30-06 and gotten groups every bit as tight as I got with Hornady checks.

Since I posted the complaint, I figure I should post a retraction. These Gators are just peachy in my book. Even if I have to wipe their butts.

Patrick, I shot high power about three weeks ago. I shoot both a heavy barrel Mdl 70 and a RI 03 with Lyman target sights front and rear. The boolit I use is the Ly 314299 sized .312 with the Gator check and FWFL. As you said, gotta wipe there butts. Last match was the M70. I shot a 730/800 on our reduced course - 200 yds. I like the Gators.

Sundog,

Your setup sounds similar to mine. My match gun is a SC 03A3 retrofitted with all milled 03 parts and bottom metal, a repro C stock and a Lyman 57 rear/17 Globe front sight. I'll try to post a pic or two later. I also have a straight SA 1903 that I left "as issued." I shoot the SAECO 301 over 18 gr 2400.

We shoot the 600 point reduced 100 yard course, and yesterday I shot a 529-5X. On the MR31 slowfire prone, once I dailed them in I think I had about 14 or 15 out of 20 within the 2" 9 ring. Yesterday was just a bit better than usual. I typically hit in the 5 teens, on a bad day a few points lower (fat guys like me HATE sitting rapid fire) and occasionally we get days like yesterday. My best ever was a 549.
