I'm loading my first batch of home cast bullets.....

using the 312-155 Lee mold. all bullets are gas checked.

I have one batch that was pan lubed with 50-50, and another that was both pan lubed and then rolled in Liquid Alox.

going to shoot these in a converted Saiga 7.62x39 rifle....

going to try both 2400 and 1680 .....

thinking of starting with 15 gr of 2400 and 17 gr of 1680

these loads are reported to cycle the action on an SKS well, but I don't know how that compares with the Kalashnikov action.

Any one want to chime in?

Sound reasonable???

ssn vet, Can't help you with 1680, but I'd start with 14grs. of #2400 (will operate the action of my Type 56 SKS with the LBT version of the CB you're using). Btw, 16grs. of #2400 gave me flattened primers so be careful with it.

.............. 16.0grs of 2400 is a good load in a full sized case. In the bitty 30 Rooski Shortski it's a bunch.

so I think I'm good with 15 gr of 2400

still looking for 1680 advice....

If 14 of 2400 will work good, then 19 of 1680/680 will be same or a little lower in total umph. ... felix
